Church Staff
Rev. Miller was born and raised in southeast Oklahoma. His parents and a sister still live in Moore, south of Oklahoma City. He has always been a United Methodist and grew up in a medium size Methodist congregation in the Oklahoma Annual Conference. He attended Oklahoma City University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. During college he served as a youth director where he felt called to the full time ministry. Rev. Miller has served in the Texas Conference in the following churches: Associate minister at Memorial Drive UMC in Houston; Associate Minister, St. Peter’s UMC, Katy; Associate Minister, First UMC, Pasadena; Associate Minister, Wesley UMC, Beaumont, and Pastor ofAldersgate Trinity, Port Arthur. Currently he is an Associate Pastor on staff at St. Luke’s UMC in Houston. While in Beaumont, he served as Executive Director of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas. In Pasadena, Rev. Miller participated in the Krist Samaritan Center’s pastoral counseling and training program. Other areas of ministry and service include the Stephen Ministry, volunteer firefighter in Katy and engineer for the West I-10 fire department. In Port Arthur he served as the Master Fire Chaplain for the Port Arthur Fire Department where he also received training for Critical Incident Stress Management. He has served as the spiritual director for the Golden Triangle Emmaus Community. Rev. Miller is married to Brooke and they have a 6 year old adopted daughter, Olivia. Rev. Miller brings skills in pastoral care and counseling, teaching, preaching, and developing lay leadership. He enjoys outdoor sports, traveling, adventure movies, collecting comic books and computer gadgets. Brooke enjoys reading, outdoor activities, music and pursuing her education in finance and accounting. Olivia is in first grade and enjoys playing outside, fishing, science, reading, music, and dogs. |
