Reaching, Teaching and Preaching
Church Staff
Dr. Gail Harrelson was born to a fifth generation farm family in rural central Florida. She is an ordained elder in the Texas Annual Conference and has been in the United Methodist Ministry since 1985. Prior to ministry experience in the United Methodist Church, she served on various church staffs in the Southern Baptist denomination as youth director, children's director and college student director. She also served in the mission field as an elementary teacher at Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya, East Africa for almost a year. Dr. Harrelson is a high energy person who brings a sense of excellence to the ministry and the mission of the church. She values commitment, integrity, spiritual depth in faith, and a passion for worship in which persons experience the presence of God. She desires that Christians learn their faith in ways that testify to the power of the risen Lord in peoples' hearts and lives. She is very strong in administration and teaching. Dr. Harrelson likes to spend at least one day per month in spiritual formation and meditation on the Scriptures. She highly values the place of prayer in church life and in the lives of Christians who form the community of faith. Her hobbies are fishing when time permits, speed walking for exercise, reading fictional mysteries, and attending good plays and the symphony. Dr. Harrelson looks forward to serving Crosby United Methodist Church with the gifts God has given her to serve Him and others as we go forward to "... make disciples for Jesus Christ." |
